About Me

Who is Ms. Jackson?
I'm so excited to be coming back to Room 501 this year! Last year was seriously the best year I've ever had as a teacher and I loved every minute of it, by the end of June, I was missing my kiddos and ready to get back to work! I have a Bachelors and Masters Degree from Columbus State University and I've been a teacher for 16 years. Almost all of those years were in elementary school until I got a call and was asked to come teach Room 501!  I've taught regular education (K, 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th), Special Education, Computer Lab, and I was the Lead Special Education teacher at my last school. Room 501 is such a cool mix of kiddos and I've loved watching them grow and learn. I have two children of my own. Stevie is an 11th grader this year and Madison will be a 10th grader (both got their Learners Permits this summer...Yikes!!). My son has Autism so I've been on both sides of the table at an IEP meeting and I understand how frustrating and scary it can be. I love all things Disney (especially Beauty and the Beast). I love the Braves and the Auburn Tigers. I'm addicted to Starbucks and chocolate in any form. When I'm not teaching or making lesson plans, I like to read, play video games, and watch Food Network!

Who Helps Ms. Jackson?
We are very blessed to have both our wonderful paraprofessionals, Ms. Justice and Ms. Lockett, returning to work with us again in Room 501. They are both wonderful with your children and I'd be absolutely lost without them!
